Apart from high-quality fashion umbrellas and sunshades that we design and manufacture at the highest standards since circa 150 years, we created and patented a useful accessory : the GUARD.

The GUARD prevents one from losing beautiful umbrellas and answers the need for adequately drying umbrellas either at the office or at home.

Nicely designed, the GUARD works with all brands of stick umbrellas, provided that the diameter of the shaft is either 10 mm or 14 mm.

Fully mechanic for sustainable development purposes, removable upon the owners’ action, the GUARD does not need maintenance.

Rodolphe THIAM winner of the MERCURE HEC Entrepreneurs 2007' trophy

The MERCURE HEC Entrepreneurs 2007 was awarded to Rodolphe THIAM for the buyout of the AYRENS manufacture of umbrellas and sunshades.


The  MERCURE HEC trophy is organized by the Groupe HEC Association(former  HEC students, MBA, Master and HEC Doctorate ). It is awarded each year to candidates selected among fifty of its members competing in four categories:
"Recent", "project", "Young" and "Less than 5 years' ago buyout." It is in this later category that Rodolphe THIAM (Executive MBA 94) competed.

The MERCURE HEC trophy is actively supported by prestigious partners such as the Cabinet MAZARS or UBS Wealth Management USA.

Pierre Kosciusko-Morizet (H99) founder and CEO of renown PriceMinister platform of purchase and sale between individuals, himself winner in 2001 sponsored the 2007 MERCURE HEC trophy edition. He therefore awarded trophies to the winners of each category at the HEC Morning "Special MERCURE HEC Entrepreneurs of 5 December 2007 at the Pavillon Dauphine in Paris.
